Exempt from classification.

Under the 1993 NZ Classification Act, it is illegal to sell, hire, show or give a restricted (red labelled) film to anyone under the age shown on the label. Adults can not give permission for underage children to watch restricted films.

Similarly, Focal Point reserves the right to refuse to sell tickets to an adult if there is reasonable suspicion that the adult will give the ticket to an underage child. The age of all ticket holders must be verified before a sale can proceed.

Photo ID must be provided by anyone who appears to be under the age of 25 attempting to buy tickets to age-restricted films. Focal Point will accept the following forms of ID:

- Drivers Licence
- Passport
- Student ID card
- HANZ 18+/Kiwi Access card
- Digital Student Profile

The following forms of ID are NOT acceptable;

- Birth certificate
- Bank/EFTPOS/credit/debit card
- A photo/screenshot of a physical form of ID
- Facebook/social media profile age
- A written note from a parent or guardian

If tickets have been purchased online, you will be required to produce valid ID at the counter when picking them up.
